Spaniard Nicolas Almagro charged to his second title of the Latin American swing and halted David Nalbandian's 10-match winning streak with a 6-1, 7-6(1) victory in the Acapulco final.
Almagro, who won his third ATP title in Costa do Sauipe last month, is now an ATP-best 15-3 (14-1 on clay) on the year.
Second seeds Oliver Marach of Austria and Michal Mertinak of Slovakia defeated Agustin Calleri of Argentina and Luis Horna of Peru 6-2, 6-7(3), 10-7 to capture their second ATP doubles title together.
