Murray Captures Third Career Title
Second seed Andy Murray gave his Shanghai hopes a major boost by claiming his second ATP title of the year with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over sixth-seeded Spaniard Fernando Verdasco in the final of the St. Petersburg Open.
Murray was contesting his fourth ATP final of the season and now has a 2-2 record. He claimed his second career ATP title at San Jose (d. Karlovic), and finished runner-up in Doha (l. to Ljubicic) and Metz (l. to Robredo).
