World No. 11 Andy Murray became the first two-time ATP singles winner in 2008 as he captured his fifth ATP singles title with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Croatian wild card Mario Ancic in the final of the Open 13.
Murray, who collected his first title of the season in Doha by defeating Stanislas Wawrinka in three sets, now improves to 10-1 for the year. He will return to the Top 10 in the South African Airways ATP Rankings.
Third seeds Martin Damm and Pavel Vizner won their first team title with a 7-6(0), 7-5 victory over first time duo Yves Allegro and Jeff Coetzee. The 2008 Open 13 crown marks Damm’s third title victory in Marseille. Damm now has amassed 37 career ATP doubles titles while Vizner has 16.
