World No. 15 David Ferrer became the third Spaniard in three years to win the Catella Swedish Open with a bruising 6-1, 6-2 win over countryman Nicolas Almagro in a sold-out Bastad final Sunday. It was the first all-Spanish Bastad final of the Open era (since 1968).
Ferrer's fourth ATP title followed his title run earlier in the year in Auckland (d. Robredo).
