The ATP and Stanford Financial Group brought world-class doubles tennis to the city of London on the first day of Wimbledon.
The event at Broadgate Arena served as the official launch of the new ‘Doubles Rules’ marketing campaign, celebrating the unique attributes of the doubles game.
The doubles mini exhibition matches featured Stanford ATP Doubles Race leaders Bob & Mike Bryan, Roland Garros champions Mark Knowles & Daniel Nestor, the No. 4 duo of Paul Hanley & Kevin Ullyett, and recent Nottingham winners Eric Butorac & Jamie Murray.

In addition to watching live matches on the mini exhibition court, spectators caught coverage from the first day of Wimbledon on a large 5mx4m screen in the arena, received tips for improving their game from tennis pros, and had the opportunity to win HEAD racquet vouchers and tickets to ATP events.
"The fast and furious nature of the doubles game provides spectacular entertainment for fans worldwide," said Phil Anderton, CMO of the ATP. "Stanford's ongoing partnership with ATP Doubles is invaluable and there is no better place for the launch of the new 'Doubles Rules' campaign than in the financial heart of London at Broadgate Arena."
WHAT THE PLAYERS SAID
Bob Bryan: "The court was nice and fast to get us ready for the grass. I felt like Karlovic on the small net, just bombing serves! It's awesome to be launching this new campaign. We're happy to be down here and I think a lot of people came out on their lunch break and got to see what doubles is all about."
Mike Bryan: "I think this event is great. It's in a perfect spot where people can watch some tennis and get to know some of the players and feel what doubles is all about. This is a great campaign. The revolution campaign last year was great but this is even better. You know, with ATP and Stanford, it's a great idea to market doubles."
Bob Bryan, on their Wimbledon preparation: "We're feeling good, we've had a good year and got some good preparation at Queen's by making the finals there on the grass. We're ready to go."
Mike Bryan, on playing music at their house in Wimbledon: "Oh we'll definitely be jammin'. We're going to go and rent our music equipment at ABC music at Wimbledon and have players stop by every night. We'll definitely be disturbing some of the neighbors. It's going to be loud and it's going to be fun."
Kevin Ullyett: "It's great. Doubles really has some momentum going and Stanford has really helped us out with their backing. So to do something like this is really something different. People can come out in their lunch hour and get some reflex volleys in. It's been really cool."
Paul Hanley: ''The sun came out and the people are out enjoying themselves and watching a little tennis. It's great exposure for the ATP and also for doubles."
Mark Knowles: "The speed of the court here was pretty fast. It reminded me of Wimbledon about 10 years ago so it was good preparation and kind of took us back in time. I think it's a beautiful setting for this event."
Daniel Nestor, on Wimbledon chances: "We're on a roll. We've played a lot of matches and I feel like we have our best chance to win Wimbledon this year so we have to make the most of it."
